Groups

A Group combines several researchers into one page — a lab, a department, or any set you choose. Manage groups from Scholar Sync → Groups.

Creating a group

  1. Click Add New.
  2. Enter a Group Name.
  3. Choose a Group Type:
    • Research Feed — a combined, searchable list of every article across the group's members, newest or most-cited first.
    • Staff Directory — a card grid of member profiles (photo, position, tags, publication count).
  4. Pick members from the Available Authors list and move them to Selected Members. Use the filter box to find someone quickly in a long list.
  5. Click Create Group.

Display options

Once a group exists, its edit screen offers further display settings, most of which apply to the Staff Directory grid view:

  • Card Image Shape
  • Columns
  • Researchers per page
  • Card fields: Show position/title, Show institution, Show research tags (and how many tags to show before collapsing into "+N more"), Show publication count, Show "View Profile" link
  • Show article images (Research Feed only)

Embedding a group

The group's edit screen includes a live preview alongside a ready-made shortcode and a Copy Shortcode button. Click Create Page to generate a new page with it already embedded, or paste the shortcode into any existing post or page yourself. See the Shortcodes Reference for every attribute the shortcode supports.
