What researchers are saying
WPScholar turned what used to be a quarterly chore into something that just works in the background. My publication list is always current without me touching it.
We set it up for our entire lab in an afternoon. Now every lab member's work is visible on our site and stays synced automatically.
Our department directory used to be six months out of date at any given time. WPScholar fixed that problem entirely.
Frequently asked questions
Is WPScholar really free?
Yes. The Free plan is fully functional with no time limit. You get 2 researcher profiles and up to 40 publications each. Manual sync is included. Upgrading to a paid plan adds automatic sync, more profiles, and more publications.
What publication sources does WPScholar support?
WPScholar currently syncs from Google Scholar and ORCID. Support for additional sources is planned.
Do I need coding skills to use WPScholar?
No. Setup takes under 30 minutes using the WordPress admin panel, shortcodes, and standard Gutenberg blocks. No PHP or JavaScript knowledge required.
What happens if I cancel my paid plan?
Your site continues to display your existing publications. Automatic sync stops, and your plan limits revert to the Free tier (2 profiles, 40 publications each).
Is my data stored on your servers?
Publication metadata is fetched via the WPScholar cloud service and stored in your own WordPress database. You own and control your data on your site.
Can I use WPScholar on multiple WordPress sites?
Each plan license covers a single WordPress site. Contact us for multi-site or institutional licensing.
Does WPScholar work with any WordPress theme?
Yes. WPScholar outputs standard HTML/CSS that works with any theme. Styling can be customized via CSS.
How do I display a group of researchers together?
Use the [wpscholar-directory] shortcode or the Group block to aggregate multiple profiles into one page. Groups are configured in the WPScholar admin panel.
